An improved diamond profile that allows for both straight and taper cuting without changing guides. Profile is available on all guides.
Why, When, and How to clean a Diamond EDM Wire Guide.
Why? To maintain accuracy and speed while preventing premature wear.
When? The manufacturer recommends cleaning intervals of 200-300 machine hours. Some parts need to be cleaned more frequently (for example: Mitsubishi AF-1 upper guides, 100 hours maximum).
How? The best way to clean diamond EDM wire guides is in an ultrasonic cleaner with a strong degreaser. If an ultrasonic cleaner is not available, the guides can be soaked in mineral spirits or in another cleaning solution and air blown dry. Visual inspection is needed after cleaning to ensure that the diamond orifice is clear along with the vent holes and through holes.

Diameters are oversized slightly with a tight tolerance to accommodate standard EDM wire tolerances. Special Sizes and high taper guides up to 45° are available upon request.
