Maxicut 246/100 ZNC Sinker EDM Machine

The machine is designed for ease of operation with a programmable Z-axis, which allows automatic parameter changes to take place during the cut based on the Z-axis depth.   The machining power can be programmed to ramp up as the electrode penetrates the work piece.

Special features include a pendant control, auto cycle function (one button operation) and optional adaptive logic circuitry for advanced arc protection on small features like seal slots.

MACHINE DESCRIPTION
The Maxicut 246 machine is a “C” frame configuration, rigidly constructed through the use of cast iron, ribbed and seasoned for stability and longevity.  The worktable is mounted on Turcite coated slides and uses high precision ball screws assuring ease of movement and accuracy.  The table is machined with “T” slots for securing the work piece and similar “T” slots are provided in the platen for securing the electrode.  The Work tank has removable front and side opening door for easy access to the table.   A dielectric manifold is included in the tank to provided flushing lines for efficient operation. 

The EDM head is controlled by a DC Servo motor and moves on roller bearings for precise response. Each axis has a closed loop glass scale read outs, displayed on the pendant mounted LCD control. 

POWER SUPPLY AND CONTROLS
The ZNC feature enables the machine to execute programmed machining sequences.  50 programs can be stored, each can have up to 8 lines defining actual EDM cutting conditions, servo settings, power level, polarity, etc.  Operator input, monitoring and control is via a pendant mounted membrane keypad and a large LCD color display.   Cutting Voltage and Current are displayed on analog meters while other machining functions and axis position are displayed on the monitor.

Each line defines the conditions that take the electrode to the depth specified.  When the depth is reached the program increments and the process continues until the last line is completed.  The power supply has the latest state of the art electronics producing DC pulsed energy from 1 microsecond to 4000 microseconds duration.
